I very much appreciate Giles thinking.
For some of us who would call ourselves Tractarians,or Anglo Catholics; we have held long in tension our gratitude for our historic liturgy and faith; and our liberal hope to be accepted as gay christians in our beloved church.

I found Goddard infuriating for missing the obvious point. He starts by mentioning Genesis 17 but fails to develop this into a proposition that Abraham’s and Sarah’s name change is justification for the church formally recognising (through a service) names following change of gender.
