I want to offer my respectful thanks for John's life and express my condolences to all those close to him who knew and loved him far more than me - as I only knew about John recently, when he urged the church to accept LGBT people more whole-heartedly. May God receive him and love him, and may God comfort those who grieve, for a man who clearly had qualities of decency and goodness.
