Comments: A white band around Edinburgh

Yeah, know the feeling. I was there as well, down from Perth. I wasn't sure whether I wanted to go along, at first, and thought the least I could do is get photos of crowd scenes. Still, having seen all the organizations there - particularly tearfund, cafod and christian aid - I was glad of having found a white shirt, too.

I was quite impressed at how easy it was to get on with folks, how it was a peaceful protest. The difference between Geldof's MPH march and anarchists elsewhere could not be more stark.

I've heard a few negative comments since, but I'm of the opinion that the fact such a number of people are prepared to turn up to support the anti-poverty cause (whatever means are required to tackle it, from whatever angles it's seen), sends a strong message to those in power to do things about it.
