Has there been any analysis of whether Synod has shifted theologically?

I've not seen anything. One difficulty in carrying out such an analysis is the refusal of many dioceses to release copies of candidates' election addresses.

I understand that those actually elected have been sent a questionnaire by the Synod Office designed to elicit information about them that might be helpful to the Appointments Committee. I don't know what questions were asked, and apparently there is no compulsion to answer them, but an analysis of these might conceivably give some further clues. However, I also understand that the questions do not include any that relate to the members' opinions, but rather cover their background and experience.
My own particular interest is in their occupation (lawyers, accountants, etc.) I think it's also of public interest also to know how many of the House of Laity are spouses/partners of clergy.
Having participated in the election myself, I have seen a number of election addresses. I did not always find it easy to discern the real theological views of the candidates from what they had written. They are after all election addresses :-)
