Thank you, Simon, for the interesting article on the Wilton Diptych. This iconic masterpiece becomes even more fascinating with this interpretation.

A fascinating article on the Diptych, only marred by an erroneous reference to Harold Godwinson as "Harold I" whereas he was Harold II, 'as any fule no'. Thanks for the link from this Guardian reader....

From an Orthodox troparion for the day:
"Today the nature of the waters is sanctified".
Reading Orthodox liturgy makes me realize how much we modern Westerners have lost of the layers of meaning associated with most of the Feasts. I blame it on the Reformation, but then again I would!
