Comments: UK government statement on Ugandan bill

"Adoption of the bill could do serious damage to efforts to tackle HIV and its criminalisation of organisations that support homosexuality could, in theory, encompass most donor agencies and international NGOs." - UK Government Statement -

On these grounds alone, the government of Uganda, and the Anglican Church of Uganda, should be very wary of passing this bill of discrimination, and criminalisation, against the LGBT community in Uganda. Whatever the 'moral view', the withdrawal of aid from the international organisations that presently help to battle the scourge of HIV/Aids in Uganda could prove devastating for the country, and who could blame the agencies for their swift and strategic withdrawal of services and aid from Uganda - and all other states that seek to criminalise and endanger the LGBT community?
