Comments: opinion

I enjoyed Ms. Patterson's comments. If the Good News Bible caused her to become interested in the Bible, its background, its teachings, etc., then I say "Spot on!"
But I do have one quibble:
The Jewish and Christian Scriptures/Old and New Testament were written in the Hebrew and Greek language of their times. Just like -- I think -- the King James Bible was translated into the English of its day.
English has changed in 400 years, and I think "Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for you know that your labour is not in vain" reads just as powerfully as 1600s-era English.
But thou mayest have a different opinion.
