Comments: General Synod papers published

The "trans" papers are truly horrible. The Gender Recognition Act has many weaknesses but it's strength is that recognises gender itself not reassignment of gender. The "trans" papers are regressive and cast those affected as transgender and attempts to recognise the change of gender not the new gender. I don't know whether they have been written by someone who doesn't understand gender recognition, or someone who is negative about it, but it is highly insulting and demeaning. It demonstrates how far the Church of England needs to go.

Because they don't understand gender recognition they then confuse baptism and recognition of name.

Simply horrible. I hope these are rejected and re-written. A far greater understanding is required
