A new dean has been appointed to Bangor Cathedral, with Canon Dr Manon Ceridwen James taking up the role from September. Details are in the diocesan press release.
I fear that it’s more of the same – the kind of appointment that Andy John would have made. But be that as is may, it would surely have been better to have waited for the election of a new bishop before appointing the dean.
I’ve known Manon for many years, I cannot think of anyone better suited to take on that position, in these circumstances.
I agree completely, having known her for over 20 years. All credit to her for grasping this nettle. My thoughts and prayers will be with her.
