The full set of papers for next month’s meeting of the Church of England General Synod is due to be published on 25 June. But a few are already available; they are listed below.
A minor typo in GS Misc 1452, the appointment to the General Synod of the Church of Ireland has become “the Church in Ireland”, possibly a slip due to recent preoccupation with Welsh church matters?
Worse, the Church of Scotland has been demoted to Church in Scotland. Furthermore the United Reformed Church is referred to as the United Reform Church.
The short page you refer to does not even state what these appointments are. If they are some sort of ecumenical observers then they could perhaps make a start by observing the names of the churches they observe.
Once a accident, two times a coincidence. To get the names of all three wrong looks like enemy action. Or at the very least gross incompetence.

Is that all there is? What, if anything, does this ‘say’ about the emptiness of the ‘Agenda going forward’?
And as regards the inattention to naming Churches correctly, does this show the need for more folk to do more checking and correcting of the work of fellow workers at ‘Central admin’?
I look forward, as ever, to the publication of ‘Questions’ indicating the power of Synod to hold ‘the executive’ to account- which also means for once allocating enough time for all questions and supplementaries to be fully ‘answered”
It’s going to be far more significant than even I anticipated. The C of E ‘Final Report on the Makin Review’ will be paper No GS MISC 1463, 38 pages and much accompanying material to consider and digest.

Seems a lot of deck chairs being moved around the deck.

The post says a full set of papers is due on 25th June, so hopefully there is a bit more to come!
More to come which will doubtless contain the ‘meat’ on 25th June. Not long to wait!
