archbishop visits Rome

The Archbishop of Canterbury starts a six day visit to Rome today. You can read the official press release here. More details of the programme of events here.

Yesterday and today, the BBC Thought for the Day radio programme had speakers who referred to this visit.

It's good to know that "we are a transparent church."

We are certainly becoming almost immaterial.

But is a great relief to learn that one's opaque impressions of conservatives being overlooked for advancement, precluded from ordination, and gently edged out of the picture were not, in fact, a hidden agenda.

When true transparency is gained, this agenda can simply be made official--as it has been in the USA.

I didnt know 'conservative' could be a term for gay.
