I thought the BBC report was very poor too. This is what bothers me. When you see how distorted is a report in order to get it down to a maximum of two minutes, and you know something about the subject, what about all the other reports when you don't know about the subject?

All the journalists got themselves locked into a 'it's not going to happen/ less will happen' mode of reporting at GAFCON because they had raised the bar far too high in the first place. If they'd listened to what was said by Orombi, and Jensen and the others, they would have realised that what was produced this week was what they had always intended to produce: international oversight by a group, a basis on which to decide international oversight (say might have done their own Covenant but it wasn't needed - they've made clear the basis for either in or out of orthodoxy), an enhanced role for Robert Duncan, and a claim to be in or the real or the majority of the Anglican Communion. We had all this about Robert Duncan's role going down, and other pointless Kremlinology, all of which was a fantasy.
