Why not just follow Jesus and ‘Love one another as I have loved you’?
Archbishop Venables is insisting that the basic problem within the Communion was not effectively addressed. Does he not think that the extensive Bible Studies which took place within the Indaba Goups was not addressing that very problem – which seems to revolve around the Biblical task hermeneutics, and contextual interpretation? Perhaps he may not have been at any of the studies, and did not avail himself of the reflections that were obviously taking place therein. All the same, I don’t agree that gay people are marginalized on account of following the son of Man.
