The Canadian Primate has been very demonstrative in his support and encouragement of the Presiding Bishop of TEC. The notion of "dis inviting " people to things runs completely against +Hiltz's grain. But what about an opportunity for the General Synod of Canada, currently in session, to pass a resolution that puts the Canadian Church on record as being in full complete support of the integrity of both TEC and its own good self. What about a resolution that puts meat on the Primate's stance? Such a resolution, under the new scope of the Primate's duties voted on earlier at Canada's GS, would then give the Primate the backing of his GS to "write prophetically to the church " on this matter.
The Archbishop of Canterbury's sermon at St Margaret's Westminster yesterday said:
"Good government from a Christian point of view is about the acknowledgement and reinforcement of human dignity."
But as first among equals in the Anglican Communion, he has acknowledged and reinforced prejudice against women and homosexuals, denying them equal dignity.
""Good government from a Christian point of view is about the acknowledgement and reinforcement of human dignity."
- Archbishop Rowan Williams -
This sounds more like the Bishop Rowan who once talked of the integrity of faithful same-sex relationships. Come back Rowan!
